01 Dec LIFE LESSON #5: WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT, GOOD THINGS WILL COME.
I was shopping with my mom when I saw an ecru and grey-colored mohair bomber jacket. It had five wide horizontal stripes across the front, (charcoal grey, ecru, light grey, charcoal grey, light grey, from top to bottom; respectively.) The sleeves, back, and waistband were ecru. It had an ivory satin lining, I was 13, and I fell in love. The only problem was that my mom didn’t fall in love with the price tag. It was $75 and in the 60’s that was the equivalent of $200 today! Mom told me it was just too much money. I left brokenhearted. A few days later I opened my closet and the jacket was hanging there. My mom had gone back, and brought it home to me.
