15 Nov WARDROBE THERAPY TIP #4: MS. NINA GARCIA – STYLE EXPERT
I’d like to take this moment to pay homage to Nina Garcia. I want to thank her. My wardrobe wants to thank her. Read this book and you will thank her too.
If ever I am asked the question, “With whom would you like to have dinner, dead or alive?”, I would choose her. And the scene would play something like this:
Janet: Thank you for agreeing to meet with me, Ms. Garcia. May
I call you, Nina? Well, I just wanted, no needed, to
thank you in person for writing THE book. So, thank you
for writing THE book that I believe should be handed to
every new parent leaving the maternity ward, with a son
or a daughter, because I believe every little girl
deserves to grow up to become a woman of great style,
and every little boy should grow up to be a man who can
Nina: Wow, thank you Janet. That was quite a long-winded
compliment, but thank you very much for your kind words.
(Nina gets up to leave. Janet quickly gains her composure.)
Janet: Nina, Ms. Garcia, before you leave, may I show you what
I have been perfecting for four long years?
(Janet sets the dust bag with her logo on the table between them. She opens it to reveal a stunningly stylish handbag. One that infuses the allure of elegance with the cleverness of design. A handbag that embodies a true combination of grace, function, and charm. Janet takes a deep breath, and with great confidence, she speaks.)
Janet: THIS IS THE 101st PIECE EVERY STYLISH WOMAN MUST OWN.
(Nina takes the bag. Twirls it around. Turns it upside down. Opens it; closes it. Examines all its moving features. Puts it on her arm, and walks away.)
Nina: I’ll be in touch. And you may call me Nina.
